Rosemary Grapefruit Gin Fizz

This drink is a gin-forward, fruity, and sweet fizzy cocktail that is the perfect afternoon delight. Notes of fresh rosemary spices, acidic and sweet grapefruit, paired with a floral or dry gin will sing a sweet spring or summertime treat—refreshing, sparkling, and zero-calorie sweetness with our easy-to-make Purecane simple syrup. Option to make this a fun mocktail minus the gin. Sweet fresh sipping!

Ingredients:

Rosemary Simple Syrup:

· ¾ cup water
· 2 tablespoons Purecane™ Spoonable Canister
· ½ cup rosemary pine needles

Gin Fizz:

· 2 oz gin
· 4 oz fresh grapefruit juice (juice from 2 grapefruits)
· 1 oz rosemary simple syrup
· 2 oz soda water or flavored sparkling water
· Optional: Grapefruit slice garnish
· Optional: Rosemary sprig garnish



Directions

  1. Bring water and 2 tablespoons of Purecane™ Spoonable Canister to a boil in a medium saucepan. Once mixture comes to a boil, stir in rosemary sprigs. Remove the pan from heat and let the rosemary infuse for 2-3 minutes. 
  2. Once the rosemary has infused into your syrup, strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a mason jar or other container to keep in the fridge. 
  3. Now that your syrup is prepared, combine gin, grapefruit juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  4. Shake vigorously for 30-45 seconds until everything is combined. Strain into ice filled glasses.
  5. Option to garnish with grapefruit slice and sprig of fresh rosemary
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
